Welcome to the website of the United Kingdom Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners Ltd (UKAHPP).

The UKAHPP was founded in 1980 as a national accrediting organisation for all those who apply the theories of Humanistic Psychology in their work.

This website has been created to introduce the public and referral agencies to the UKAHPP, its philosophy and its membership criteria. The website includes a searchable directory of members, giving their practice details, which is intended for the use of clients seeking counsellors and therapists (i.e. direct self-referral). UKAHPP cannot provide referral to specific therapists.

Humanistic Psychology emphasises the uniqueness of every human being, and the growth and development of the individual as the result of experience allied with understanding. UKAHPP practitioners are therefore concerned with helping their clients and students realise their own unique potential. For more information see John Rowan's 'Guide to Humanistic Psychology' (free to new members).

The UKAHPP is an independent member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the UK Register of Counsellors.
